Move over, global giants. India’s EV revolution just hit overdrive. Today, Ola Electric officially unveiled its much-anticipated first four-wheeler electric vehicle, “The Phoenix,” at a spectacular event at its “Futurefactory” in Krishnagiri. More than just a concept, Ola claims the production version of The Phoenix will offer an unprecedented 700-kilometer range on a single charge and be priced under ₹10 lakh, targeting the heart of the Indian automotive market.

This groundbreaking announcement comes on the heels of another major milestone: the commercial production of advanced solid-state EV batteries has officially begun at the Tata Power SED facility in Bengaluru.

Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal, known for his ambitious vision, stated that The Phoenix is “designed for India, made for the world.” Key features revealed:

  • Range Anxiety Solved: The promised 700km range would instantly make it one of the longest-range EVs globally, specifically tailored for inter-city travel in India.
  • Aggressive Pricing: A sub-₹10 lakh (ex-showroom) price point positions it to directly compete with popular internal combustion engine (ICE) sedans and SUVs, making EVs accessible to millions.
  • Smart Features: Expected to include Ola’s MoveOS for car (MoveOS-C) with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and deep integration with India’s digital infrastructure.

Pre-bookings for The Phoenix are expected to open in Q1 2026, with deliveries slated for late 2026.

2. Bengaluru’s Battery Breakthrough: Solid-State Production

Simultaneously, the Tata Power SED facility in Bengaluru announced that its new line for solid-state EV battery production is now fully operational.
